Vicki L. Leonard
A memorial service for Vicki L. Leonard will be held at a later date.
Vicki Louise Leonard, 75 years of age, of Beaver City, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society – Colonial Villa in Alma, Nebraska. Vicki was born in Red Willow, Nebraska, on January 10, 1950, the third of five children, born to Dothan and Dora (Harter) Ventling. She received her education from Beaver City Public School and graduated with the class of 1968.
Following her education, Vicki worked at the furniture store in Oxford. In 1972, Vicki was united in marriage to Henry Leonard in Norton, Kansas, and to this union, one child was born, Lacey. Vicki accepted and raised Henry’s children, Sheryl and Terry, as her own. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Vicki enjoyed putting together puzzles and reading, especially fantasy and mystery.
She loved going out with her sister, Kathy. They would often meet up in Hastings, go out to eat, do some thrift shopping, and then catch a movie.
Vicki was great at throwing parties; she would go all out on decorating and make a big deal of celebrating everyone she could.
Her grandchildren adored her, and she loved to play cards and board games with them.
She had a special spot in her heart for her little boy Elliot, who would always greet her with a big smile and say, “Guess who’s here, Grandma?
Your favorite boy is here!” She made sure to take the kids to the movies for their birthdays, and they loved sharing those special moments with her. She always had plans, like taking Gabe to see Jurassic Park this summer, and though that didn’t happen, her love and spirit will live on.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Dothan and Dora Ventling; and two brothers: Dale and Eugene.
Vicki is survived by her children: Lacey LeJeune and her husband, Nis Boyson of Oxford, Nebraska; Sheryl Sickels of Butler, Missouri; Terry Leonard of Anson, Maine; eight grandchildren: Jesse Harris; Arianna LeJeune; Gabriel LeJeune; Elliot LeJeune; Ola Sickels; Jack Sickels; Patryk Sickels; and Tycjan Sickels; two sisters: Joanna Morris; Kathy Zinemeister; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation, viewing, or memorial book signing. The family is honoring Vicki’s wish for cremation.
