Eagles fifth, Warriors eighth at Southern Valley Invite
SOUTHERN VALLEY - In a round-robin format that produced a number of matches for each wrestler and a lot of points in the final standings, the Southern Valley wrestling team finished fifth and Arapahoe took eighth at the Southern Valley Invite on Friday.
The Eagles had three topfour medalists, led by Braxton Hammond’s first-place finish at 106 pounds. Hammond pinned his way through the tournament to move to 8-2 this season. Trevor Brown also took second at 160 pounds and Mason Noel was fourth at 152 pounds.
Arapahoe’s Bryan Conn, Tristian White and Levi Kerner each finished second while Ashton Downey took third.
The Eagles finished with 206 points while the Warriors scored 187.
