Evelyn Rose Davis, 90, of Farnam, NE passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Meadowlark Pointe in Cozad, NE. Evelyn was born August 29, 1933 at Farnam, Nebraska to Robert and Freda (Thumm) Zeeh.

Doris J. Sydow, formerly of Trenton, Nebraska, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, November 3, 2023.

DeLoris Ruth Summers died October 25, 2023, at home, in Marquis Assisted Living Center, Tualatin, Oregon. DeLoris was 91 years old. She was born May 26, 1932, and grew up on a farm outside of Bartley, Nebraska. DeLoris was the only child of Louis and Viola (Wall) Schaffert. DeLoris had fun growing up on the farm and liked telling stories such as riding her pony to country school. DeLoris had many cousins and relatives near her farm and life revolved around family and their country Lutheran church. Her grandfather lived with the family when DeLoris was young and kept the little girl occupied. She loved her grandfather very much. WW II, the Great Depression and drought figured strongly in her early life.

Audre E. DeVries, age 96, of Cambridge Nebraska, formerly of Beaver City, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Cambridge Hospital. She was born October 14, 1927, in Upland, Nebraska to Henry and Marie (Howell) Butenschoen. Audre attended school in Upland until her family moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska in 1942. After graduating from high school in 1944 she began her 36-year teaching career. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Kearney State College in 1968, making her the first person in her family to graduate from both high school and college.

Larrie E. Johnson passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his home in Cozad at the age of 80. Larrie was born April 8, 1943 at Lexington, Nebraska to Raymond and Beverly (Arent) Johnson. He graduated from UNSA in Curtis with the class of 1960. He married Janice Rhinehart on June 18, 1963. Their union was blessed with 5 children, Brenda, Phyllis, Rick, Jennifer and Lacey. Larrie worked at Monroe Auto right out of high school and farmed for one year, before going to work at Paulsen, Inc. where he retired after 56 years of faithful employment. Larrie enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family.

A memorial service for Dorothy A. Greening was held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Dr. W. Kirwin Stewart, Jr. officiating.

A graveside memorial service for Danny R. Pool will be held on Friday, the 20th day of October 2023, at 11:00 a.m.

Illa Mae (Cochran) Warner was born in Mc-Cook on May 3, 1938, and went home to be with her Lord on Oct. 13, 2023.

Gale Callison Allen was born February 25, 1935 to Jack Albert and Dorothy Leona (Lyle) Allen on the family farm south of Cambridge, Nebraska. He attended grade school at three country schools around Cambridge. Gale attended high school in Cambridge, Edison, and Beaver City where he graduated in 1952. He joined the United States Navy in 1955 and was honorably discharged in January of 1959.

Joanne Rose Lammers, age 92, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, Nebraska. She was born on July 9, 1931, at Minden, Nebraska to Martin and Isabelle (Nelson) Kaufflet.
