Jorges-Puls Reunion disbands and gives donation to Elwood Senior Center

Body
Sixty years ago this month on Labor Day, September 3, 1961, the Jorges-Puls families held their first family reunion with seventy-five members present. It was held in Ogallala. Many more reunions were to follow annually, always on Labor Day weekend, and for the past many reunions, have been held at the Elwood Senior Center. Hundreds of decendants over the years, but sadly to say the attendance has fallen by 2/3. With sad hearts, we voted this year, to disband. This year, on Labor Day 2021, was our last reunion. We always had a fun time with our “auction”. We voted to donate our remaining funds To the Elwood Senior Center. Elwood was the home of so many of us! We hope our departed would be happy of our decision. Thank you to all of our “caring cousins.”

What a September we've had! Hot and dry are about the only terms to describe it. When we had a low of 39 degrees, the thought was that the hot days were history. Wrong! Sunday saw a high of 100 with Monday close to the same. That's too hot for September, let alone the last days of September. But! At this writing, there are good chances of moisture coming. A two day, slow gentle rain is on everyone's wish list.
