The Edison Volunteer Fire Department

The Edison Volunteer Fire Department held a hamburger supper Sunday night September 26, at AgValley Coop in Edison, in conjunction with National Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment Day. A special thank you to the coop for helping make this happen and to the Melvin Christensen family for the donation of hamburger. In addition to hamburgers, the department had on display it’s recently purchased grain bin rescue tube. This purchase was made possible through funds from Farm Credit Services of America. Pictured with the tube are (l-r) Adam Corbett, Gavin Doles, Daniel Morse, Tim Chapman, James Koelzer, and Jacob Corbett. Holbrook-Edison-Arapahoe Rural Fire District #5 fire engine housed in Edison was displaying a recruitment banner. Helping serve hamburgers were Arlan Leising, Daniel Morse, Tim Chapman, customer, and Kent Tidyman.

The “Right to Life Chain” is October 3 from 3:00-4:00 PM. Please meet at the intersection of Highways 6/34 and 283 in Arapahoe. Bring a lawn chair if you want. (Trinity Lutheran Church, Arapahoe, will be hosting this year.)

If you would like to join us please call the Center by 9:30 am. The Center is delighted with the folks who are coming to share in the noon meal. If you want to take your meal out, feel free to call the Center and we will be glad to visit about that with you. The staff will continue to make your visit here, either while participating in the activities or eating our noon meal, as positive and enjoyable as can be. Thanks for your support. The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing. We have coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with some friendly neighbors.
