Preston Phillips age 90 formerly of Cambridge passed away at the Hillcrest Estates in Gothenburg on April 11, 2023. Graveside services will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery on June 2, 2023 at 3:00 PM.

Arapahoe Gala fundraiser held saturday

The Arapahoe Gala was held Saturday at the Ella Missing Community Center. The event was a huge success as it will help with the cost of new playground equipment at the school. Several people enjoyed a meal, visiting, playing the ring toss, and bidding on the live and silent auctions.

The annual Punchy in Pink Spring Round Up hosted by the NCTA Ranch Horse Team at the Kiplinger Arena in McCook lived up to the goal of showcasing and developing excellent horsemanship and raising funds for those battling breast cancer in the ranching community.

LDCCW Conference held at St. Germanus Catholic Church

Arapahoe’s St. Germanus Catholic Church and Lady Fatima Shrine was the host to the Lincoln Diocese Council of Catholic Women’s Conference (LDCCW) held Friday and Saturday, April 14 and 15th. Father Thomas McGuire (far right) was the moderator for the 2 day spiritual meetings and conference for women across the state of Nebraska, south of the Platte River from Nebraska City to the Colorado border. Father Kenneth Weirs held mass with meetings following on Saturday. The ladies of the local church prepared dinner for around 54 people.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors. The staff will continue to make your visit here, either while participating in the activities or eating our noon meal, as positive and enjoyable as can be. Thanks for your support.
