Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, June 19, 2023. Council members Vernita Sailor and Jeff Ommert were not present for the meeting. Council began the meeting by approving claims 1 through 66 and the minutes from the previous meeting.

Drs. Chris and Jillian Wenburg of Kansas City, MO are pleased to announce the birth of Miles John Wenburg. Grandparents are Drs. John and Ingrid Tangeman of Arapahoe, NE and Mr. James Wenburg of Hastings, NE and the late Mrs. Rogene Wenburg.

ELWOOD - The Hi-Line legion baseball team bludgeoned visiting Overton four times over the weekend, scoring 62 runs against the Bandits over a pair of games Friday and two more Sunday. The Bulls took victories of 13-5 and 17-6 on Friday and 16-1 and 16-10 on Sunday.

CAMBRIDGE - The Cambridge- Arapahoe Gladiators junior legion baseball team swept a doubleheader from Hershland Sunday, ending a four-game skid while improving to 5-8 this season. In the opener, the Gladiators scored five in the first and three more in the second to build an 8-1 lead before holding off the Trojans for a 10-6 victory.

BEAVER CITY – Since Monday was a federal holiday, the council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 20. The council approved a sidewalk building permit submitted by Jamie Hargett contingent upon payment for the permit.

Wesley F. Smith, age 93, formerly of Beaver City and Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away at his apartment in Cedarwood Assisted Living at Fairbury, Nebraska on Monday, June 19, 2023.

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Yvonne Bunnell, our loving and devoted mother and grandmother, on June 16th, 2023 at the age of 97. Born in Totowa, New Jersey on January 9th, 1926 to French immigrant parents and the youngest of ten children, Yvonne ‘came of age’ during World War II.
