CAMBRIDGE - After fighting to get back even by halftime, the Cambridge football team mauled visiting Alma on the ground in the second half and rolled away to a 38-22 win over the Cardinals Friday. The Trojans ran for over 200 yards in the second half, taking the lead on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter as Jayden Ruf escaped on a 40-yard touchdown run, nearly untouched.

SOUTHERN VALLEY - In th emidst of a danting stretch of games, the Southern Valley football team dropped Friday’s Homecoming contest with Sandy Creek, 68-6. The Cougars improved to 6-0 while Southern Valley fell to 2-4.

The tall task of taking down Class D6 No. 1 Arthur County was too big for the Southwest football team Friday.

Taking the field in Hayes Center, the Maywood/Hayes Center football team battled district and conference foe Hitchcock County Friday. The Wolves came out on the short end of the stick, dropping a 16-40 game.

On Sunday, October 1st Oscar Stoll was honored for his 100th Birthday. following the service at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood.
