RPAC Hoops Tournament tips off Friday, Saturday

The Republican Plains Activities Conference will tip off its annual conference basketball tournament under a new and slightly revised format this weekend. With the additions of Hi-Line and Sutherland making a full 16-team bracket, the old “Super Saturday” format was scrapped as eight games at one sight was too much for a single date.

Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA), located in Curtis, has long been recognized for its commitment to the agricultural industry by offering only ag-based majors and certifications. Additionally, the college boasts a nationally-ranked veterinary tech program. Now, the school may add inspiring the formation of an FFA chapter to its glowing resume.

The Red Willow/Hitchcock county GOP (Republican Party) will hold a joint meeting on January 28, 2025, at Bedore Barn/Marlene’s Kitchen (38404 Road 719, McCook, NE). All area Republicans are welcome to attend this monthly meeting. An open discussion/think tank discussion will begin at 6:30 pm so join everyone for an early Meet/Greet at 6:00 pm.

INDIANOLA – Local businessman Paul Schaffert is excited that the community is coming together to secure the area’s history while promoting tourism. Approximately forty residents and business leaders gathered in the community building for the Indianola Historical Society’s monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 14.
