The Warriors saw their 14-point lead sliced to single digits midway through the second half, but scored 18 points in the fourth to salt away a 17-point victory.

HOLDREGE - Southern Valley dominated the middle quarters and escaped Holdrege with a 51-44 win Friday night. The Eagles trailed 12-6 after a quarter, but outscored the Dusters 35-19 during the middle quarters, which was enough to push them to the finish of a 7-point win.

BERTRAND - The Maywood-Hayes Center girls basketball teams overcame a pair of slow starts to post lopsided wins over Sandhills/Thedford and Bertrand to stretch their record to 14-2 this season. Friday, the Wolves trailed 10-4 after a quarter, but outscored the Knights 46-15 the rest of the way to coast to a 25-point victory.

SOUTHERN VALLEY Visiting Southwest dominated the opening quarter and made an early lead stand up in a 5444 victory at Southern Valley Saturday. The Roughriders led 14-1 after eight minutes, but Southern Valley reversed their fortunes with 20 points in the second to draw within 24-21 at the break.

CAMBRIDGE - The Cambridge boys and girls basketball teams will both enter RPAC Tournament play riding win streaks as each went unbeaten during a busy stretch of games last week. The girls won four games in eight days, downing Medicine Valley, 51-33, Tuesday before weekend wins over Sutherland, 43-24, and Maxwell, 46-39.
