The NCTA team traveled to Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, to compete on March 8 and earned the top team ranking and overall individual rankings of 1st – Leah Schutz, Elwood; 2nd – Jay Mintling, Hayes Center; 4th – Tyler Keener, Mitchell; and 5th – Owen Harb, Grand Island.

The Red Willow GOP (Republican Party) will meet on March 25, 2025, at Marlene’s Kitchen. Meet/Greet will begin at 6:30 pm followed by the business meeting at 7:00 pm. All area Republicans are invited and encouraged to attend.

The Garden Prairie Church will host a Pancake, Sausage & Egg supper on March 23rd from 5-7:30 p.m. at the church located 15 miles south of Maywood Junction on Highway 83. A free will donation will go towards purchase of new church door.

On March 13, 2025 Cambridge Unit 199 of the American Legion Auxiliary met in regular session with nine members present. After Presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Prayer and Preamble, President Witte called the meeting to order at 2:06 p.m. The minutes of the February meeting were read. Sue made a motion to approve; Virginia seconded; the motion passed. Treasurer Lewis gave her report.

These Arapahoe students competed last week with History Day research projects at UNK and will take their performance to the State competition in April. .

Cambridge Elementary students received gold medals last week for their team at the Eustis-Farnam High Ability Learners Program (HAL) Invite. HAL involves Quiz Bowl, Science Olympiad, Math Olympiad, ACADECA, Battle of the Books, and Summer Honors.

The Cambridge Memorial Hospital Auxiliary met March 11, 2025 in the Tri Valley Health System Republican River Room with lunch provided by the hospital. Thirteen members and one guest answered roll call. Minutes from the January, 2025 meeting were read and approved, followed by reports from the treasurer, president, Thrift Shop co-chair, CEO Clay Jordan and Foundation Director Jill Goodwin.
