Wow can’t believe it’s been 20 years that we have been pulling off this camping get together. We started in 2006 camping up on Trail 12. As our camping gear got a little more sophisticated we moved to Trail 4 for the convenience of electricity and a bath house.

South Dakota State University announces Brett Fraker of McCook, Nebraska, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2026 semester. Fraker is a student in SDSU’s College of Education and Human Sciences.

WHAT: The Water, Climate and Health Program within the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health will conduct Rapid Need Assessments in West Central and Southwest Nebraska starting Monday, June 22, and ending on Friday, June 26.

ARAPAHOE – Erick Lee is on a mission to build relationships between constituents and their federal representatives. He recently represented the Legislative Committee for the Nebraska Association of School Boards in a delegation that met with both 3rd District Congressman Adrian Smith and Senator Deb Fisher.

Cambridge residents and visitors are invited to celebrate community, patriotism, and small-town traditions during Medicine Creek Days 2026, scheduled for June 1921. This year’s festivities will carry special significance as the community joins in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

Cambridge City Council met on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Council member Troy Westadt was absent from the meeting. Guests at the meeting included Brad Williams and Tom Shoemaker. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Open Meeting Announcement, the council approved the consent agenda. The consent agenda included the minutes of the previous city council meetings, the claims, and the Planning Commission minutes.

At this week’s Cambridge Rotary meeting they had the great opportunity to meet, Miss Shayda Schutte, 2025 Red Willow Rodeo Princess. Shayda visited with them about what it takes to try and become a Rodeo Princess in Nebraska. Her love for the sport of rodeo and her horse, Chico, was front and center. Shayda enjoys riding Chico, and playing sports. She loves to smile as she carries the flag horseback, wave to the crowds and share her rodeo love to everyone.

Tri Valley Medical Foundation recently awarded scholarships totaling $14,750 to 20 area students who are pursuing careers in nursing and other medical fields. Tri Valley Medical Foundation applicants had wonderful career goals, outstanding scholastic records, and favorable recommendations from medical professionals and instructors. The Foundation is fortunate to be able to support these students in our service area to assist them in achieving their future career goals.
