ARAPAHOE – The city council held their bi-monthly meeting on May 6, 2025. Both City Superintendent Jerry Stevens and Councilman John Paulsen shared about preparing the park, ballfield, swimming pool, and golf course for summer activities.

Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies: Board members ‘represent the Nebraska communities we serve.’ The University of Nebraska Medical Center Chancellor’s Board of Counselors has seated 25 new members from around Nebraska, welcoming them as advisors, advocates and ambassadors for UNMC.

Nine McCook Community College students were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society recently. Kendree Kern is this year’s president of the Eta Omicon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at MCC.

Concordia University, Nebraska’s natural sciences department recently held its annual banquet, recognizing graduating seniors and students who have displayed outstanding service and scholarship during their time at the university.

The Arapahoe K-4 Music Department presented “What a Wonderful World” at the annual spring concert on Thursday, May 1 in the north gym of the school. The event was enjoyed by all friends and family attending.

4/23/25-Suspicious Activity, Beaver City, NE: The Furnas County Sheriff’s office recently conducted an investigation into allegations of a possible sexual assault involving a child. As part of the investigation, deputies conducted forensic interviews with the individuals involved. No disclosures were made during these interviews indicating any inappropriate behavior or unlawful conduct as this time. The investigation has concluded with no further action necessary.
