The University of Nebraska has announced two new leadership appointments at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis. Kelly Bruns, current director of the West Central Research, Extension and Education Center in North Platte, has been named interim dean of NCTA and Interim director of partnership engagement in the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Maintenance work will begin on US-83

May 12, 2025 (McCook, Neb.) — Weather permitting, a chip seal project will begin May 15 on U.S. Highway 83 (US-83), according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Chip seal is an application of an asphalt binder to a roadway surface followed by an aggregate.

(Hastings, Neb.) – Central Community College-Hastings honored about 390 graduate candidates May 9 during its 58th annual commencement ceremony. Forty-eight of the degree candidates achieved an accumulative grade-point average of 3.75 or higher during their college career and graduated with honors.

(Grand Island, Neb.) – Central Community College-Grand Island honored about 320 graduate candidates May 9 during its 39th annual commencement ceremony. Thirty-four of the degree candidates achieved an accumulative grade-point average of 3.75 or higher during their college career and graduated with honors.
