The Nebraska Sheep and Goat Producers Association Annual Meeting and Education Program will be held at the Meat Animal Research Center, located at 120 West Fairfield St., Clay Center, NE. The program will start with a tour of the facillities at 9:00 am followed by the following seminars and speakers: •Improving Out of Season Lambing by Tom Murphy, USDA ARS Meat Animal Research Center, Research geneticist.

Nebraska Extension hosting livestock risk management workshop in Curtis on November 13

Lincoln, Neb., Oct. 23, 2024 — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Center for Agricultural Profitability and Nebraska Extension will host a risk management workshop in Curtis to update livestock producers on the latest insurance options and risk management planning strategies. It will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Nov. 13, at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, Educational Center Room 137, at 404 E. 7th St.

Red Willow GOP encourages Republicans to vote

The Red Willow County GOP (Republican Party) held their monthly meeting on October 22, 2024. A “full house” responded as Chairman, Brenden Funk, encouraged voter participation by all Republican voters in the upcoming election. Vicki Bauer, Hitchcock County Chair and District #305 State Committee Woman, from Culbertson announced that the Hitchcock County Republicans will meet Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 6:30 pm for their monthly meeting at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall (502 Colorado Street, Culbertson, NE). Vicki extended an invitation to Red Willow County to attend.

Curtis receives 8 trees for parks projects

Body
Thanks to the Ten Free Trees program, an effort of the Nebraska Forest Service and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, the city of Curtis received eight trees for the parks projects. The eight received trees were initially planned for work around the community center.
