On the ballot: Oxford sales tax & economic development

Two questions on the ballot for Oxford residents for the upcoming election are a modification to their sales tax and adoption of an economic development plan. Bobbi Pettit, Five Rule Rural Planning said the questions on the ballot will not work if both are not adopted.

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) encourages residents to get their flu shots and COVID-19 shot updates to protect against respiratory illnesses this winter. SWNPHD has seen an increase of COVID-19 cases over the past few weeks, following the late summer wave of infections seen across most of the country.

Community Hospital responds to Nationwide Shortage

McCook, Neb. – With a nationwide shortage of intravenous (IV) fluids following the temporary closure of Baxter’s manufacturing plan in Marion, North Carolina, Community Hospital is preparing by taking proactive measures to manage the current supply.

Oxford declares a dangerous building

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees approved a resolution declaring the property at 701 Central a dangerous building during their regular meeting on Monday, October 14, 2024. The property has been looked at by the board of health as well as receiving complaints by other residents. Bobbi Pettit, Five Rule Planning, said the law firm they work with on properties will get the paperwork filed. Five Rule will also send the letters out to the owners.
