We’ve had more beautiful rain. The gauge here on The Hill showed .98” on Tuesday morning. It came with a bit of pea to marble size hail. Hail damage to crops would be minimal and I haven’t checked out my garden yet this morning. These late summer rains sure have the weeds growing! But we’re not complaining about that.

OMAHA, Neb. – Students across Nebraska are returning to school this month and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Omaha Division is reminding families to make time for conversations about the unintended consequences of drug experimentation before kids head out the door for a new year of learning.

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) has announced the award of more than $958,000 in Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) funding to 12 Nebraska communities.

The Arapahoe City Council met on Tuesday, August 20 at 7:30 pm for their regular meeting. The CRA held at meeting immediately preceding the meeting. The CRA approved the sale of 506 and 508 5th Street to Ryan and Sheila Webb. The CRA also approved a purchase agreement for 811 7th Street with R. Perry Construction for $1000.

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department’s Walk to Health program is offering the “National Parks of the USA” Challenge starting August 26th through September 23rd. This free walking program is open to residents of all ages in the SWNPHD nine-county health district.
