The 2024 Curtis Volunteer Fire Department scholarship recipient is Alaina Eberle. Alaina (center) is the daugher of Dusty and Teresa Campbell and Jason and Becky Eberle.

ARAPAHOE - Southern Valley, Cambridge, Arapahoe, and Hi-Line were among the eleven teams that competed at the Jim Mather Invite in Arapahoe last Wednesday, April 17th. Both the Cambridge girls and boys placed second as a team, and both the Arapahoe girls and boys placed eighth.

Many of the area schools took part in their career and technical student organization conventions over the last couple of weeks. School chapters for FCCLA, FFA, and FBLA all had conventions where they competed against their peers for state recognition, many bringing home top placements.

On Friday evening, close to 30 fire fighters from five Furnas County fire departments and one member of the Wellfleet fire department in Lincoln County attended an annual refresher training in the Edison city building.

LINCOLN - The Elwood FFA Chapter competed at the 2024 State FFA Convention in Lincoln on April 3rd-5th. The Ag Issues team of Hudson Weeder, Delaney Collins, Bryce Reiners, Judah Niemeier, and Brody Diefenbaugh were State Champions.

LINCOLN - The Medicine Valley FFA Chapter competed at the 96th Nebraska State FFA Convention in Lincoln on April 3rd-5th. Hallee Sheffield walked across the stage and received her State Degree.

LINCOLN - The Cambridge FFA Chapter traveled to Lincoln April 3rd-5th to compete at the 2024 State FFA Convention. The Nursery and Landscape team were state champions with Brenna Deterding placing first, Bailee Ahlemeyer placing second, and Mileeya Monter placing twentieth.

LINCOLN - The Eustis-Farnam FFA Chapter competed at the State FFA Convention in Lincoln on April 3rd-5th. The EF Agronomy Team were the state champions.

LINCOLN - The Arapahoe FFA Chapter competed at the State FFA Convention in Lincoln on April 3rd-5th. Nineteen Warrior FFA members got to go.

LINCOLN - The Maywood FFA Chapter traveled to Lincoln to compete in the 2024 State FFA Convention on April 3rd-5th. On the first day of the convention, Kassidy Hatfield and Dallas Grunden gave their Cooperative Speeches, and Jaylee Sellers gave her Natural Resources speech. The Maywood Ag Demo Team demonstrated how to make sausage.
