Jeremiah Huntley was recently recognized as the Cambridge Area Rotary Club’s Student of the Quarter for Cambridge Public Schools. With commitment to making a positive impact on his community, Jeremiah serves as an inspiring role model within the school.

Six local semifinalists have been named for the 2024 Hormel Entrepreneurship Competition. Those still in the running for up to $25,000 to start up or expand an existing business include applicants from McCook, Indianola, Imperial and Champion. This year all the competitors are looking to expand existing businesses. Final presentations will be made April 19.

In an effort to clean up the community, Elwood Village Board has approved moving forward with the Nuisance Program. Nuisance Officer, West Central Nebraska Development District, Inc.

The Southwest High School Board of Education met for their monthly meeting on April 8th, 2024. The meeting was called to order at 7:31 p.m.

Beginning today, county election offices are sending out early voting ballots for the May 14, 2024, statewide primary to voters who completed early voting applications and fulfilled the new voter ID requirement.
