Unit 199 of the American Legion Auxiliary met in the Cambridge Community Building on April 11, with 8 members present. After Presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Prayer and Preamble, Pres. Witte called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m. The minutes of the March meeting were read. Sue made a motion to approve the minutes; Mary Lou seconded.

Brenda Davis was in Kearney on Sunday afternoon to watch granddaughter, Bentley Arnold, play Volleyball. Linda Berens of Omaha was a Thursday to Sunday afternoon caller of her mother, Doris Bellamy.

Twelve new members were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at North Platte Community College Sunday. National Work Zone Awareness Week is April 15-19 this year. In 2021, according to the American Road & Transportation Builders Association, there were 956 work zone fatalities, and an estimated 106,000 work zone crashes.

Kansas City, MO — Saturday, April 20, 2024, marks an unofficial cannabis “celebration,” and there will likely be an increase in marijuana use. To help keep drugimpaired drivers off the roads, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Region 7, which includes Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska, is teaming up with local law enforcement to spread the message that drug-impaired driving is dangerous and illegal. NHTSA wants to remind all drivers: If You Feel Different, You Drive Different. So don’t drive high, or you’ll get a DUI.

10 years ago Glen Monter and Wayne Sander of Elwood participated in the Heartland Flight on March 25th. The flight brought Monter, Sander and Wren Trosper of Arapahoe to Washington D.C.

10 years ago Tri Valley Health System is pleased to announce that Shiuvaun Jaeger , MD of Cambridge was selected as Physician of the Year to Nebraska Academy of Physicians Assistant. She was presented the award in Kearney and was nominated by Jessica Kapple, Larry E.

10 years ago Coach Bob Braithwait will be retiring from coaching basketball after this year. Coach Braithwait has coached Arapahoe Warriors for 25 years and 30 years coaching.
