The Testing Ag Performance Solutions (TAPS) awards banquet held on Saturday, January 13, was the culmination event for the program’s seventh year of farm management competitions. The TAPS program was created by University of Nebraska educators and specialists, as an innovative way of connecting producers to industry professionals and offering a way of testing out new, advancing technologies through farm management competitions facilitated in North Platte, Neb., at the West Central Research, Extension, and Education Center.

Cambridge City Council Approves Electric Rate Study Proposal

The Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. All Council members were present for the meeting. Del Schoenfish was present as a guest. After reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, the Council approved the Consent Agenda, which included approval of the January 3, 2024, City Council meeting minutes as amended, as well as approval of the claims report. The Consent Agenda also contained the Museum Board Minutes from December 2023, the Park Board Minutes from December 12, 2023, as well as the Economic Development minutes from January 10, 2024. The Planning Commission meeting minutes from January 10, 2024, were also approved. Lori Harding was approved to be an Economic Development Board Member, and Ryan Burke was approved to become a Planning Commission Board Member.

Elwood School Board review committee appointments

The Elwood Public Schools Board of Education met on Monday, January 15th, 2023. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. All board members were present. The board first reviewed committee appointments, which will remain the same except for the following changes: Daron Huyser will be added to the building and grounds committee, Nic Niemeier will be removed from the negotiations committee and Kelly Gydesen will be added.
