USDA reminds Nebraska producers to file crop acreage reports

(LINCOLN, Nebraska), June 23, 2023 – Agricultural producers in Nebraska who have not yet completed their crop acreage reports after planting should make an appointment with their U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) service center as soon as possible ahead of the upcoming July 17 deadline.

Pickleball comes to Oxford

“With the growing interest in Pickleball around the nation we wanted to bring the opportunity for Pickleball to Oxford,” says Duane Murdoch. He and Mark Lueking were looking at a way to bring the growing sport to town for people to enjoy. Fortunately there is a space that can be used in Oxford at the old tennis courts by the current Hilltop Event Center. The property is Village owned and also currently used as a basketball court.

The annual Community Vacation Bible School in Oxford will be held at the Oxford First Baptist Church this year. VBS will be from Wednesday, July 5 through Friday, July 7 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm each evening. Bible School is open to those going into preschool through 6th grade.

After some delays, mostly due to road construction on highway 6 & 34, the building to be used for the Oxford Community Food Pantry arrived last Thursday, June 22. The building had to come west on highway 30 to Lexington and then south to highway 6 & 34 to come back east to Oxford.

LINCOLN, NE (06/26/2023)-- More than 6,400 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans’ List for the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year. Qualification for the Deans’ List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center.
