Body Holbrook hosted a Dedication ceremony of the Veterans Memorial ceremony on Saturday. Kathy Cobb of Holbrook, who co-founded the project, gave a speech during the ceremony.

Body The Arapahoe American Legion #96 held a lunch at the park following the service at the cemetery. Several people attended the fundraiser with proceeds going to various Veterans and youth events. Larry VonLoh and Howard Davis kept a list of all those attending.

Body The ceremony was held to remember military personnel who died serving in the United States Armed Forces. The Charles Roy Bonham American Legion Post 28 Beaver City performed a threevolley salute and fired a cannon.

Body The Terry Sayer family and Kathy Cobb were instrumental in making the Veterans Memorial a reality for Holbrook. Several people came out for the dedication on Saturday at the Holbrook park.

Body Oxford Graduates and guests bought 155 tickets to attend an alumni banquet on Saturday, May 17. After the meal a short meeting was held. Alumni voted to reinstate a $500 Oxford High School Alumni scholarship.

Body BEAVER CITY - Angel Joppa, a lifelong resident of Beaver City, was named Talent and Glamour Queen as well as first-runner up Diamond Girl during the “Our State Diamond Miss” pageant that was held June 20-21 in Haviland, Kansas.
