New Survey Shows Nebraskans Want Child Care Crisis Fixed

Statewide survey results released today show that Nebraska voters are experiencing a child care and early learning crisis that is hurting families, employers, and Nebraska’s reputation as a great place to live, work, and raise a family. The public opinion survey of registered voters was released today by Nebraska Extension at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and We Care for Kids/ Por todos los niños, a diverse coalition of nearly 50 state and community based organizations.

Red Card training held for local fire departments

On the weekends of March 11-12 & 18-19, 42 area firefighters joined Eric Moul, Fire Management Specialist, Nebraska Forest Service, and Wes Hock, Holbrook Fire Chief, for a Red Card training in Cambridge. Departments represented were: Oxford, Red Willow Western, Beaver City, Arapahoe, Holbrook, Wilsonville-Hendley, Edison, Eustis, Maywood/Wellfleet, Cambridge and Bartley. The training is a free, nationally accredited training through the National Wildfire Coordinating Group, and Moul has been in the fire service for 23 years and teaching for 4 years with the Nebraska Forest Service.

Republicans encouraged to make requests known to legislators

The Red Willow County GOP (Republican Party) will meet March 28, 2023, at 6:30 at Bedore Barn/Marlene’s Kitchen (3 miles north of Mc-Cook). The legislative session is passing quickly and Republicans are encouraged to make your requests known to our legislators at nebraskalegislature. gov . Updates on current bills can be found on the Red Willow County GOP Facebook page. Brenden Funk, District 305 Committeeman, reported on the SCC (State Central Committee meeting) held recently in Gering, Nebraska. All area Republicans are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings of the of Red Willow County GOP.

Free Christian Conference to be held in Wilsonville on April 1

The Rev. Gary Waguespack will be making a return trip to the area for the second annual Free 1 day Christian Conference to be held at the Wilsonville Community Center on Saturday, April 1, 2023. The conference begins at 9:00 am. Pastor Gary ministered in the Wilsonville Methodist Church and the Lebanon Presbyterian church several years ago. Pastor Gary will be assisted by Pastor Curt and Debbie Pfeil (worship leaders) and Pastor Lana Dake with the 3 session teaching on “Truth”. Pizza will be provided for lunch. Cambridge Memorial Hospital Auxiliary elect officers

The Cambridge Memorial Hospital Auxiliary met March 14th in the Tri Valley Health System Republican River Room for lunch, provided by the hospital. Fourteen members answered the roll call. Minutes from the January, 2023 meeting were read and approved, followed by reports from the treasurer, president, thrift store co-chairman and volunteer coordinator.
