The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors. The staff will continue to make your visit here, either while participating in the activities or eating our noon meal, as positive and enjoyable as can be. Thanks for your support.

Collins headed to american legion auxiliary Girls state

Delaney Collins of Elwood, NE has been selected to attend American Legion Auxiliary Girls State June 4-10, 2023, on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Collins was selected based on interest and knowledge of government, leadership abilities, good standing scholastically and of good character. Collins will study local, county and state government processes in this nonpartisan political learning experience. Founded in 1919, the American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest patriotic women’s service organization. With a membership of nearly 850,000, local Auxiliary units like Elwood’s, have a strong presence in their communities nation wide.

The Furnas County 4-H Council and Furnas County 4-H Clubs are excited to present the 2023 4-H Carnival to be held Saturday, April 1st beginning at 7:00 pm at the Ella Missing Center in Arapahoe. Come on out and enjoy some homemade cake and ice cream, play games, and win prizes! There will be lots of door prizes donated by area businesses so be sure to purchase tickets from a Furnas County 4-H’er!
