March 20, 2023 (McCook, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin April 3 on N-47, from reference post 7.70 to reference post 13.05, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Paulsen Inc., of Cozad, Neb., is the contractor for this project.

UNK accepts a record 56 students into Kearney Health Opportunities Program

KEARNEY – Future health care professionals from communities across the state will attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney this fall as part of the largest-ever class to enter the Kearney Health Opportunities Program (KHOP). A total of 56 high school seniors were recently accepted into KHOP, a pipeline program designed to grow the state’s health care workforce by recruiting and educating students from rural Nebraska who are committed to practicing in these areas after professional school. Participants are awarded full-tuition scholarships to attend UNK and guaranteed admission to the University of Nebraska Medical Center if all requirements are met.

TeamMates Jump into Harlan County! Jason Weiss and Lisa Dutt represented Cambridge at the Patterson Harbor Marina Polar Plunge event on Saturday, March 18. This annual event raised over $30,000 through corporate donations and sponsors for individual plungers. The funds raised are distributed to many TeamMates chapters in the surrounding area, including the Cambridge TeamMates chapter. There were 45 plungers who braved the coldest temps yet in the 11 year history of this event to jump into Harlan County for TeamMates! NPPD beginning wood pole imspections across state

Columbus, Neb. – Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has contracted with Alamon Utility Services and Osmose Utility Services to inspect wood poles on its distribution system and subtransmission and transmission facilities during the calendar year 2023.
