Central Community College honors students for 2022 fall semester

(Grand Island, Neb.) – Central Community College has announced the names of full-time students who earned spots on the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the 2022 fall semester. The students were enrolled at one or more CCC locations, which include the Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings campuses; Holdrege, Kearney and Lexington centers; and Ord Learning Center.

Head Start gives preschoolers a “Head Start”

Head Start, a program of Community Action Partnership of Mid Nebraska (Mid), provides comprehensive services to 20 families in Furnas County. Furnas County Head Start is now taking applications for the 2023-2024 year.

10 years ago Patricia Sayer recently loaned her Grandmotherin- laws dog collection to the Cambridge Museum. The collection includes 130 different dog figurines ranging from 7 1/2 inches porcelain figure to a glass figure half inch in height.

Tri Valley has hired Nicole Hoffmann as a new Physician Assistant and she will be living in Arapahoe.

The community of Cambridge has recently been selected to be part of Nebraska Children and Families Foundation Communities for Kids, a state-wide initiative which supports young children, families and those providing their care. The Communities for Kids initiative is a multi-year planning and implementation initiative that was created in response to community requests for assistance with shortages of high-quality early childhood care and education programs. These shortages impact children’s optimal development and also pose a challenge for communities hoping to attract and retain the viable workforce they need to thrive.
