Southwest FFA Chapter competed in two contests hosted on the campus of NCTA in Curtis. First place team consisted of Blake Storrs, Assic Helberg, Cassa McConville, Austin Minard, Chance Perkins, Dillon Fries, Miranda Wordekemper, Kate Kelley, Dylan McConville, Justin Daffer, and Trevor Van Pelt.

10 years ago Outstanding performance honors for Elwood High School One-Act Play went to Aaron Weismann and Macy Martinez. Ceiling in the grocery store has received a faux finish by several ladies from the board with the help of a couple of other ladies.

Cambridge placed fifth at the RPAC One Act Play on Saturday, November 17, “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Brock Shoff, Aante Fuqua, and Caleb Moyer were recognized for outstanding actors. As of November 9, Cathy Einar, assumed the role of Officer in Charge at the Bartley Post Office, after Post Master Marilyn Hunter took over the Post Master job in Cambridge.

A new building at the Holbrook Animal Center, owners Jeremy and Erin VanBoening recently constructed a new large animal facility. Building is heated and includes indoor OB chutes and horse stalls.

90 Years Ago December 1, 1932 A football game between Arapahoe and Oxford on the former team’s field Thanksgiving day resulted in a 10 to 7 victory for Oxford, giving the team an undefeated season and the undisputed championship of the Mid-Valley League. During the six games played no team crossed the goal line for a touchdown, the only points made against the Cardinals was a safety, scored by Wilsonville.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors. The staff will continue to make your visit here, either while participating in the activities or eating our noon meal, as positive and enjoyable as can be. Thanks for your support.

CAMBRIDGE - After interviews with three candidates, two external superintendents from other schools and it’s own principal, the Cambridge Board of Education selected Jarod Albers, who has been a principal at Cambridge for nine years, as it’s next superintendent.
