Body 100 Years Ago October 13, 1921 Sewer diggers unearthed a chest of five and ten dollar counterfeit gold pieces at Arapahoe. It was thought to be a part of the “loot” of a counterfeit ring that operated during 1881-1885.
FLAG SQUAD PROJECT - These girls were among many youths earning funds for different activities by selling food at the 2001 Applefest in Orleans last weekend. Show selling Tacos in a Bag were, l to r: Jackie Carpenter, Vanessa Robbins, Danielle Einspahr and Janelle Schoen. Funds raised were to help with summer camps and new flag squad equipment. This is the third year the Southern Valley members have participated at Applefest.

Body 10 years ago Bill and Joy Deterding of rural Cambridge were the recipients of KRVN Radio’s Harvest Break lunch on October 6 at the farm. Joy entered the radio contest where KRVN host Dewey Nelson and Associates delivered a Skeeter Barnes harvest lunch to the Deterding crew.

Body 10 years ago The Pinnacle Bank in Elwood is closer to completion on the outside stuccoing being done on the south part of the front on Tuesday. Interior is still being done on the inside with completion on the entire project around middle of December.
