Field fire contained northwest of Holbrook

On Sunday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Holbrook Fire Department was dispatched to a field fire two miles west and 3 1/2 miles north of Holbrook at the intersection of roads 417 and 726. The HEA (Holbrook/Edison/Arapahoe), Cambridge and Beaver City Fire Departments all responded. Sunday evening, HEA headed back to the field to put out hot spots due to the wind. The cause of the fire was a combine.

Elwood preschoolers head down to the Team Jack radiothon presented by The Home Agency and Jim and Sherry Baldenado. Each year over 20 radio stations come together to air the inspiring stories of families touched by childhood brain cancer and to raise research funds and awareness for the cause. Cambridge boasts community growth in 2020 Census

2020 Census data shows that out of 16 area communities, Cambridge was one of two towns whose population grew (Smithfield also increased) from 1,063 to 1,071. What was the reason for this growth? According to Melissa Jackson, Cambridge Economic Development (ED) director, there are a number of reasons for the increase.

25 Years Ago September 12, 1996 An editorial by Times-Tribune publisher Frankie John urges Beaver City residents to mark «yes» on the surveys sent out by the City in regards for input in the Tri-Valley Health Systems request for financial help in recruiting two additional physicians to join its staff. A majority of «no» responses would likely mean the closing of the Beaver City Clinic.
