100 Years Ago September 1, 1921 School opened with the following faculty: Lowell S. Devoe, superintendent; Lillian Burns, principal; Sylvia Brunton, Normal Training; Ethel Well, Domestic Science; Opal Dettman, Commercial; Irene Johnson, Hazel Taylor, Ruth Gideon, Lela Huff, Florence Cunningham, Helen Clark, Lillian Penn as grade teachers.

25 Years Ago August 29, 1996 Hazel Noel celebrated her 100th birthday on Monday with family and friends. The Furnas County Sheriff’s Department cleared a rash of thefts that had been occurring in recent weeks in Arapahoe.

10 years ago Valuations for the Arapahoe school district including Furnas, Gosper, and Frontier Counties according to county assessors is $227,467,406.00. This is up $16 million from last year’s valuation of $210,933,410.00.

10 years ago Friends and family gathered last Wednesday evening to welcome home Jonathan Paisley, who had been stationed in the Middle East. Paisley was led through downtown Cambridge on a caravan.
