The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11 of this year to deliver $350 billion for eligible state, local, territorial and Tribal governments affected by COVID-19. Nebraska is slated to receive approximately $2.3 billion in ARPA funds ($1.1 billion at the state level, $667 million for cities and counties, and $545 million for school districts and the Nebraska Department of Education). Counties across Southwest Nebraska received the first half of their ARPA allotments on or around June 1, 2021, with the second portion of it scheduled for delivery on June 1, 2022.

4S Goat Gxpo Seminar Show and Sale will be held September 25th and 26th

The seminar will start at 10:00 AM and finish by 4:00 PM Saturday, September 25th. Rusty Lee from Lee Farms of Winder Georgia will be the keynote speaker. Rusty Lee and his wife Rayna have raised Boer goats for 21 years. Rusty has been a certified judge for Boer goats since 2007 and has judged in most states in the country. He judged the National show for the International BGA in 2010 and the ABGA National in 2018. In 2007, Lee Farms bred and produced the overall Reserve Champion Percentage Doe in Duncan Oklahoma. Rusty has set on the Breed Standards Committee for both associations for numerous years and he follows the South African Standards closely as a hobby. He has organized and led several types of conferences and judges’ training across the country. Rusty also narrates production and dispersal sales all over the country.

BEAVER CITY –City Accountant Joe Stump from the Grand Island-based CPA firm Almquist, Maltzahn, Galloway & Luth (AMGL) discussed the 2021-2022 proposed budget with council members during the regular monthly board meeting on August 16, 2021. The council will hold a hearing on the proposed budget of approximately $4.9 million on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.

Cambridge City Council Approves Change Order for Swimming Pool Construction

The Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, August 16, 2021. Council Member Jeff Ommert was absent from the meeting. After approving the Consent Agenda, Council discussed a Change Order from Hackel Construction to replaced the admissions ceiling at the swimming pool with Extrutech, and additional $2,144.80. The Change Order was approved.
