TVHS Auxiliary Thrift Store welcomes Fall/Winter

Its official – the Tri Valley Hospital System Auxiliary has brought out the fall and winter merchandise! Left over items from the successful spring/summer sack sales were boxed for Orphan Grain Train in Grand Island, along with Catholic Charities and Goodwill. Auxiliary members worked for three big days freshening up the store and brought out the fall/winter items. They appreciate the hospital for providing the lunch on Monday; the First State Bank on Tuesday and First Central Bank on Wednesday, both lunches being at the Senior.

Cambridge City Council discuss building a new fire barn

Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. All members were present for the meeting. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Open Meeting Law announcement, the council approved the Consent Agenda, which included the approval of the minutes from the September 2, 2025, City Council Meeting, the claims, as well as the Budget Hearing Minutes from September 2, 2025, and the Library Board Minutes from September 10, 2025. The Consent Agenda also included the Planning Commission Minutes from September 10, 2025, and a Special Designated Liquor License for the Arapahoe Municipal Golf Course & Country Club for a Wedding Reception to be held on October 18, 2025.

Fall festivals planned this weekend in Beaver City, Curtis

Both the Eager Beaver Days celebration and the Curtis Fall Festival will take place this weekend. Eager Beaver Days is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday with a parade Saturday morning at 10:30 followed by games in the Square, along with a car show, food and turtle races.

Tri Valley’s Pro-Am raises $46,000

CAMBRIDGE - The 31st annual Tri Valley Medical Foundation Pro-Am golf tournament was another success as the tournament raised more than $46,000 for the foundation. Twenty-eight teams took part in the tournament last week with Coppermill Steakhouse finishing the Championship Flight Winner and Horizon Boys the winner of the First Flight.

International watercolor exhibit at MCC

One of America’s longest running traveling art exhibitions is in McCook for a sixweek stop at McCook Community College’s Wrightstone Gallery. The 158th International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society opened Monday and will be at MCC through Oct.
