Cambridge Council discusses nuisance abatement, damaged trees and ball fields

Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Open Meeting announcement, the Council approved the Consent Agenda. That included the approval of the minutes of the August 18, 2025, City Council Meeting, the claims, and the Library Board Minutes from the August 13, 2025, meeting.

The Cambridge TeamMates celebrated the start of the school year on Tuesday, Aug 26 with a kick off picnic at the school. We had over 80 mentors and mentees attend for walking tacos, dessert, and ice cream from The Scoop in McCook. Matches were able to meet and catch up on summer activities and make plans for this school year. Aggies participate at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island

Competing, hosting, serving, cooking, cleaning, recruiting, photographing, and enjoying — students, faculty, and staff of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) were fully engaged at this year’s Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. Nearly two dozen representatives attended, many for the first time, encouraged by Dr. Kelly Bruns in his new role as Interim Director of Partnership Engagement at NCTA.

NACO Raises Concerns Over Ballot Proposals Threatening Local Services

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Association of County Officials (NACO) has examined the dual petitions sponsored by Advocates for All Nebraskans and finds them to be ineffective in some ways and harmful in others. They will not have the intended effect in many communities across Nebraska. Instead, if these proposals are successful, many areas will see a significant degradation of essential public services; many others will not see much of a difference in the property tax obligations.
