At Ease USA Expands Access to Confidential PTSD Services

(OMAHA, Neb.) - At Ease USA (AEU), an organization that provides services and treatment for those impacted by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), has expanded its network of preferred providers to better serve veterans, active military, reservists, family members and others who need assistance. In addition to Omaha and Lincoln, on-site AEU-supported services are now available in Grand Island, Kearney and North Platte.

The William Geiger family was the recipient of the Pioneer Farm Family Award on Saturday evening at the Gosper County Fair. William Geiger was 13 or 14 years old when he traveled from the Black Forest in Germany to Ellis Island.

School administrators react to second draft of health standards

CAMBRIDGE – The Nebraska Department of Education released its second draft of the proposed health education standards for grades K-12 on July 29. After thousands of Nebraskans voiced opposition to the first draft that was released in March, the State Board of Education was prompted to require the department to revise the standards. The second draft will be discussed when the state board convenes for their monthly meeting in Lincoln this Friday.
