Smith, Weaver take plea deals in sex trafficking case

STOCKVILLE - Two Furnas County men previously arrested on charges connected to a Furnas County sex trafficking investigation reached plea deals with prosecutors and appeared before District Court Judge David Urbom at the Frontier County Courthouse in Stockville Thursday.

Terry L. Smith, 38, and Bucky J. Weaver, 41, each saw their charges reduced to a single Class II felony count of First Degree Sexual Assault.

     ARAPAHOE – The Regular Arapahoe-Holbrook School Board Meeting was called to order by board president Lisa Anderson on February 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 10:02 p.m. All board members were present. Others in attendance were Dr. George Griffin (Superintendent), Rudy Perez (Principal), who arrived upon his return from the State Bowling Tournament, Cassie Hilker (Business Manager), Alese Williams (Student Council Member), and Keith and Christina Maaske (Hunting Lawn Care). 

     The agenda was approved.

The youth won first place in the Class C4 District finals Saturday, Feb. 10 and will be traveling to Lincoln with seven other Eagles this weekend to compete in the state tournament.
