Oxford board approves recommendation for new liquor license

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees met on Monday, January 4 at 7 pm for a regular meeting. Absent from the meeting was trustee Scott Hamilton due to a fire department training. Also present were Clerk Becky Calderone and Public Works Director Duane Hoffman. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Clint McQuiston. The board approved the consent agenda which included the minutes from the December 21 meeting and claims from December 22 through January 4.

Indianola City Council could shed about $60/month off Communication bill

INDIANOLA - The Indianola City Council met briefly Monday evening to evaluate the Great Plains Communication bill and to discuss what to do with some items and junk from a recent nuisance abatement. After approval of the prior minutes and the claims, the Clerk Stephanie Blau went over the Great Plains Communication bill and some of the ways that were offered to consolidate the costs.

Cambridge City Council discussed purchasing a new monitor for the Cambridge rescue Squad

The Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, January 4, 2021. Council Member Mike Harris was absent. After calling the meeting to order, Council approved the consent agenda and appointed Larry Maatsch, Mark Harpst, Jason Cobb, Jason Sawyer, Troy Westadt and Jeff Lehr to the Board of Adjustments. This will be a three year term. The Board will organize and set up Terms of Office and Officers.

2021! Now to remember to write that instead of 2020. It didn’t seem to take long to get into the swing of writing 2020 so hope this old mind can process 2021 as quickly. Everyone seems to be looking forward to the new year with optimism. That would be a welcome change to the curves 2020 managed to throw at us, COVID, of course, being the biggest influencer.

Beaver City Council approves grant application for sewer improvements

Beaver City - The Beaver City Council held their regular meeting on January 4, 2021 with all city council members present and Mayor Leighton Schmidt presiding. Others present were city staff and representatives: Teresa Youngquist (City Clerk), Jackie Mayberry (Deputy Clerk), Dawn Brown (Library Director), Grant Jurgensen (Utilities Superintendent), and Jim Dodson (City Attorney). Also present were Isaac Watson, Laura Mclnturf, Neal Mclnturf (Cattle operation). Mason Herrmann (Miller and Associates), Mike Wilken (independent insurance agent) and Guyla Mills (Valley Voice).
