The Arapahoe Elementary students presented their Christmas concert and play “A Pirate Christmas” last Thursday, December loth at 10:00 a.m. They live streamed the concert and recorded it for those parents, friends and grandparents not able to watch it live. The fifth grade band played Jingle Bells and Gingerbread Men on Parade. The sixth grade band played Christmas Fun and Christmas in the Kitchen.

On Sunday, December 13, those who watched Pastor Becky Saddler’s Methodist Church video in the Prairie Pines parlor were Stella Busch, Lorrie Anderson, Nathi Ahrens, Opal Coakley, Emma Crawford and Lelia Haussler. Tom Whipple played guitar and sang during the church service. He sang “A Baby is Born” referring to the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

It is still pretty quiet at Sunshine Village. Residents enjoyed the mild weather while it lasted but now dealing with some needed moisture. They are not able to have their Christmas party but are very excited about all the delicious deliveries from the Food Pantry, the board and staff. They all appreciated all who helped with deliveries.

The Elwood Public Library purchased a book for each of the 56 Santa Cop kids. Jane Hilton presented them to Sheriff Dennis Ocken at the Gosper County Court House recently. The books will be wrapped and given to each child just before Christmas.

The Gosper County Senior Center is NOT open for congregate meals for the remainder of the month of December. The Gosper County Senior Center will continue to serve meals for delivery or pick-up.
