NCTA names Fall 2020 Deans List, Honor Roll

CURTIS, Neb. — Academic honors for 48 Aggie students at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture were announced Wednesday for the fall semester which featured 16 weeks of in-person classes at the campus in Curtis. Students must be fulltime enrollees, with at least 12 credit hours for the semester to be eligible for the academic designations. The only twoyear campus of the University of Nebraska system, NCTA offers academics solely in veterinary technology and agriculture sciences.

The Gosper County Senior Center is NOT open for congregate meals for the remainder of the month of December. The Gosper County Senior Center will continue to serve meals for delivery or pick-up. Wreaths Across America celebrated at the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge

Six members of the Cambridge High School National Honor Society joined Cambridge’s American Legion Auxiliary and American Legion on Saturday, December 19, to honor our veterans at the Wreaths Across America ceremony at Fairview Cemetery. About 4o members of the community attended the ceremony, in which the National Honor Society led the Pledge of Allegiance. The American Legion presented the Colors and Arms; the Legion Auxiliary laid a Wreath for all veterans at the war memorial; and Megan tenBensel played Taps. NHS Members who attended were: Autumn Detering, Chloe Besler, Ian Tomlin, Ethan Sides, Megan tenBensel and Ali Webb.

Support for Mental Health During the Holidays

The holiday season can be a difficult time of year; even more so with the added stress and changes that have come this year with the COVID-19 pandemic. Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) encourages residents to reach out to friends and neighbors who may be struggling and offer support. There are also several resources that residents can access over the phone or online to get support for themselves or a loved one.

KEARNEY — Graduate and undergraduate degrees were conferred for 410 winter graduates at University of Nebraska at Kearney commencement exercises at UNK’s Health and Sports Center. Graduate degrees were conferred at a hooding ceremony scheduled for 7 p.m.
