DONALD D. SAYER

Donald D. Sayer, 88, died Friday, October 15, 2021 at Presbyterian Manor, Newton.

He was born September 10, 1933 at Cambridge, NE to William and Mabel (Ridpath) Sayer.

He was a Halstead area resident since 1979 and was a construction superintendent for Foy Construction, building the Hertzler Clinic as well as many other projects.

He was also a very skilled woodworker building many projects for his family, taking great pride in his work.

On July 3, 1955, he married Carolyn L. Harding at Cambridge, Nebraska, she survives at home in Newton.

Other survivors include daughters: Rhonda (Mike) Casey and Debbie Schauf, all of Halstead, brothers: Roland, Leroy, Larry, Genie and Melvin Sayer; sisters: Maxine Hilker, Betty Mihn, Karolyn Brown and Joan Richter; four grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers: Dick, Terry, and Dean Sayer; and a sister Linda Sayer.

Visitation was from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:30-8:00 Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Private family graveside service.
