KENNETH L. STEWART

Kenneth LeRoy Stewart passed away Thursday July 22nd, 2021 at Fallbrook Assisted Living in Lincoln, NE. Kenny was 97 ½ years young.

Kenny was born January 24, 1924 to Robert and Gertrude (Matticks). At a young age, Kenny moved from Spring Ranch, NE with his parents to a farm north of Bartley, NE. On June 30, 1950, Kenny married Donna June Moore. They made their home about a mile north of his parent’s farm and resided there until 2010 when they moved to Lincoln, NE. They had two children, Robert and Diane.

Kenny was a lifelong farmer, still fixing fences in his 80’s and mowing his own lawn into his 90’s. He never met a stranger, and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. If you were family or friends, he probably gave you a special nickname.

Preceding his death were his parents, spouse Donna June, son Robert (Bob), grandson Dennis, sister Donna Burton, brothers and sisters in law Myrlin Burton, Bill & Nadina Vontz, Lynn Kerst, Jackie Moore, and Robert Moore.

Kenny is survived by daughter Diane Stewart and husband Doug Pfanstiel, daughter in law Jeannine Stewart, grandchildren Rebecca, Tyler, and Ashley Stewart, Lineva (Chris) Matzke, Chase and Breanna Pfanstiel, great grandchildren Kayla and Alexis Minary, Isabella and Jaxson Condon, and Andrew Matzke, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Dave Davidson officiating. Interment followed services in the Bartley Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 26, 2021, from 10:00 AM - 7:00 P.M. with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel entrusted with arrangements.
