LouAnn Broz, of Mc-Cook, passed away at Highland Park Retirement Center in McCook on Monday, May 18, 2026. She was 71 years of age.

LouAnn was born on May 7, 1955, in Sioux City, Iowa to Francis and Louise (Stritt) Broz. She graduated from Hayes County High School in Hayes Center in May of 1973 and went on to study in Kearney, Nebraska where she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminal justice.

After graduating, LouAnn worked for the Department of Corrections in Lincoln, Nebraska from 19771997 as a Correctional Counselor. Other places of employment include Lee Jansen Motor Co., Nebraska Memorial Monuments, Lockenour-Jones Mortuary as a PreNeed Funeral Counselor, Steamway Carpet Cleaning Co. and as a certified reflexologist.

LouAnn was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayes County, Nebraska and later a member of St.

Patrick Catholic Church in McCook. She was a member of the St. Patrick Church choir for 32 years, altar society, she served as a Eucharistic Minister for ten years and was a CCD teacher for nine years.

Hobbies LouAnn enjoyed were Husker football, volleyball, and basketball. She enjoyed all spectator sports, thrift store shopping, training her horse and country western dancing.

LouAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Louise Broz; grandparents, John and Anna Stritt and Frank and Agnes Broz.

She is survived by her brother and sister-inlaw, Steven and Cheri Broz of Hayes Center; nephews, Aaron (Britni) of Hayes Center, Lane (Brianna) Broz of Hayes Center; nieces, Angie (Ty) Garrett of Hayes Center and Lindsey (Scott) Jorgenson of Paxton, NE; great-nieces of nephews: Ashlin, Aubrey, Kade, Ellie, Bentley and Mya Broz, Kynleigh and Kadence Fisher, and Jacelyn and Natalie Jorgenson.

Cremation was chosen and graveside services in the St. Patrick Calvary Cemetery in McCook will take place at a later date.
