Margaret R. Peterson

Margaret Ruth Peterson, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2024, at her home in Cambridge, Nebraska, at the age of 87. She was born in Cambridge, Nebraska on August 24, 1936 to Monte and Jeanie (Rankin) Petersen.

She is survived by her two daughters Jill Edgmon and husband Kenny of Pierre, South Dakota, and Suzanne Day, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and one son Mike Petersen of Cambridge, Nebraska, and has 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert and William Lockenour and sister Dorthy Lockenour Jones.

She married LaVern Petersen on October 1, 1956. She worked at Heritage Plaza for many years and made many lasting friendships. She enjoyed cooking and was famous for her cinnamon rolls. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, in Cambridge.

There will be no viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen. Memorial service was held at First Congregational Church on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 10 AM with Pastor Mitch Ivey, officiating. An inurnment followed at the Fairview Cemetery, Cambridge, Nebraska Garey Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
