Diane was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 18, 1962, the eldest of four daughters born to Wayne and Katherine (Kersting) Roeder. She was welcomed home by three older siblings: Mike, Pat, and Allen. She received her primary education in Kearney and then completed her schooling at Orleans.

Steven J. Hosier was born on March 15, 1947, in Oxford, Nebraska, the fifth of five children, born to James and Samantha (Chapman) Hosier and passed away on February 8, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society - Colonial Villa in Alma, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 24 days. He received education and graduated from Edison Public Schools in 1966. Steve united in marriage to Irene S. Jochem in 1967, who were high school sweethearts and happened to be the only two that graduated in their class. Following high school, Steve and Irene moved to Colorado so he could attend barber school.
