Larry Doyle age 83 of Bartley, passed away at the Kearney Regional Hospital on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. He was born in McCook, NE on September 13, 1940, to William and Eula (Tiller) Doyle. Larry attended school in Bartley and graduated from Bartley High School in 1958. In March of 1962, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was trained as an Aircraft Refueling Specialist.

Paula Jeane (Minnick) Knapple, 97, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away peacefully with family surrounding her Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Ridgeway Senior Living in Lexington, Nebraska. Paula was born during a terrible blizzard on December 6, 1926, in the kitchen of her family’s rural Furnas County log home.

Pauline (Geier) Frecks, 98, departed this earth for her heavenly home on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Nebraska. Pauline was born on December 19, 1925, on a farm near Duncan, Nebraska to Martin and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Geier.

Keith H. “Herm” Maaske, age 91, of Arapahoe, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at his home.

Janice Messersmith, 77, of Maywood, NE passed away on Monday February 12, 2024 at Great Plains Health. Janice was born on January 3, 1947 at Oberlin KS to John Gerald and Violet Evelyn (Clayton) Berry.

Carol Susan (Potter) Duis, 77, died February 6, 2024, surrounded by family at her home in Tacoma, WA. Born June 16, 1946, to Myrom “Hap” Potter and Catherine “Kay” (Trenchard) Potter and raised in Cambridge, NE. Carol attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she was a Regent Scholar, and spent over 30 years teaching in Chicago, IL and Oakdale, MN. She and husband John Robert “Bob” Duis lived on an 80-acre hobby farm in Somerset, WI, where they raised daughters Jennifer and Susan. After retiring, they moved to Haines, AK in 2006.

Naomi Ruth (Dettmer) Leising, age 91, of Blue Hill, Nebraska, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 10, 2024. She was born in Kensington, Kansas on July 5, 1932 to Karl Louis and Frieda Dorothee (Dunkhas) Dettmer.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Christ’s Church at Lillian with Don Schauda officiating. Burial followed in the Gates Cemetery at Gates, NE.

LaVonne June (Aden) Banzhaf was born June 14, 1935 to Emil and Judith (Bratten) Aden at their home. LaVonne graduated from Gothenburg High School.
