Arapahoe takes down Overton on opening night

OVERTON - The Arapahoe boys basketball team tipped off its season with a dominant road win at Overton Thursday.

The Warriors used strong quarters in the second and third to blow open a fourpoint lead after one to roll to a 49-22 victory.

Reilley Einspahr led a balanced offense with 14 points and was 6-of-lo from the field as the Warriors shot 43 percent for the game.

Arapahoe led 9-5 after a struggle of a first quarter. But the Warriors exploded for 19 points in the second to build a 28-15 edge at halftime. The offense continued to pour it on in the third while the defense put the clamps down on the Eagles. A 14-3 third period left Arapahoe with a 42-19 lead to the fourth. There, the Warriors coasted to the finish in a 27-point victory.

Cord Frink added eight points for the Warriors and Ander Wasenius chipped in seven. Nolan Meyers and Austin Roush each scored six.

Arapahoe crushed the Eagles on the glass, outrebounding them 38-17. Seven different players had at least four rebounds, led by eight from Austin Roush. Einspahr added six and Grant Taylor grabbed five. Einspahr also led the team with three assists and five steals.
