SUPERIOR - After letting a big first half lead slip away, the Southern Valley girls basketball team bounced back in the fourth quarter to post a 52-47 victory at Superior Friday.

The Eagles surged out in front in the opening quarter, putting up 19 points and taking as big as a 12-point advantage before leading 19-10 to the second.

Superior turned the tables on the Eagles by locking down the Southern Valley offense and moved in front at the half, 28-27.

Neither team generated much in the third and the Wildcats maintained a one point edge to the fourth.

There, Southern Valley found just enough offense and was rock-solid at the free throw line to escape with the five-point win.

Southern Valley knocked down 23 of 32 free throws in the contest, overcoming 26 percent shooting from the field.

Ann Bose had a hige night, scoring 35 points while connecting on all 18 free throw attempts. She added 10 rebounds, three assists and five steals for the Eagles.

Krista Best scored eight and Brynn Baily added four points.
