Three Roughriders take second at Osceola Invite

OSCEOLA - Following a 63-15 loss in a dual to Thayer Central Friday night, the Southwest wrestling team finished with three medalists at the Osceola Invite on Saturday.

Jacob Kerns (pictured right) at 132 pounds, Tyler Ellis at 152 pounds and Clayton Hardy at 220 pounds each finished second in their respective weight classes.

Gage Overton (113) finished seventh and Mitchel Stritt (120) took fifth for the Roughriders.

Despite only five wrestlers competing, the Roughriders finished sixth in the 18-team field, scoring 84 team points. Fillmore Central won the meet with 199.5 points. Yutan was runner-up with 145. East Butler finished third, Elkhorn Valley was fourth and Howells-Dodge was fifth.
