Body The Elwood Public Schools Board of Education met on Monday, June 8th, 2026. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. School Board President Ryan Shutts was absent and all other members were present. There was no public comment.

Body COLUMBUS - Southwest senior Houston Billeter fired a two-day total of 157 to tie for seventh and earn his secondconsecutive State medal to lead local players at the Class D State Tournament in Columbus last week.

Body OMAHA - While it would sometimes rain and sometimes shine, the weather conditions couldn’t dampen the performances of local athletes at the State Track and Field Meet in Omaha last weekend. Twenty-two athletes won 18 medals at the State Meet and two teams finished in the top ten.

Body JOHNSON LAKE - Battling cool temperatures and some early winds, seven area golfers found their way through the District D-4 Tournament at Lakeside Golf Club Tuesday and advanced to the Class D State Tournament in Columbus next week.

Body KEARNEY - A bump up to Class C made qualifying a challenge, but the Maywood/ Hayes Center Track and Field team managed to qualify seven for this weekend’s State Meet in Omaha.

Body SOUTHERN VALLEY While the sun shined bright, so did the track and field athletes at the D-7 District Meet at Southern Valley last Wednesday.
