Body LINCOLN - While they arrived in district finals Friday by different paths, both the Arapahoe and Maywood/ Hayes Center girls basketball teams rolled away from Shelton and Weeping Water to clinch berths to this week’s Class D1 State Tournament.
The Warriors won the district championship and advanced to the Girls State Basketball Tournament since 2014 with a victory at Shelton Friday night.

Raiders fall in subdistrict final

Body The Medicine Valley boys basketball season came to an end last week in the D2-8 subdistrict with a 42-56 loss to Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. The Raiders fell behind 4-12 in the first quarter and finished the quarter trailing 7-16.

Body MAYWOOD - A lot can change in 10 weeks. Thursday’s subdistrict championship between topseeded Maywood/Hayes Center and third-seeded Southwest was a rematch from the first weekend of the season when the Wolves routed the Roughriders 84-46.
